Contracting Scams
NewsPolice

On August 23, 2011 the Town of Louisa was struck by an earthquake in the 5 + magnitude range.
The police department’s staff all returned to the town and began to do a mixture of foot and neighborhood patrols looking for damaged houses and gas or water leaks.

During the coming weeks damage assessments will continue and our officers will remain vigilant in their patrols.

We caution the citizens to remain aware of potential contracting scams. Make sure that all contractors are licensed in Virginia and when in doubt call the police department to verify their legitimacy.
