Louisa, the Town
One of the first acts of the County court, when it was formed in 1742, was to authorize the keeping of an Ordinary to accommodate travelers to the court and beyond. The Town of Louisa grew around the court and the Ordinary, and was formally established in 1873. Porter Wright's lively mix of history and anecdote is a Louisa classic; it traces the history of the town through about 200 years.
