Public Notice: Utility Service Disconnections Will Resume in November 2021
News

Governor Northam’s state of emergency, declared on May 26, 2020, due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, ended on June 30, 2021, at 11:59 p.m.

The 2021 General Assembly included language in the Appropriations Act that prohibited utility service disconnections for non-payment of utility bills until 60 days after the end of the state of emergency – which was Sunday, August 29, 2021. Therefore, all utility service disconnections will resume November 2021.

It is imperative that customers with past due balances make the necessary payments to bring their accounts current, or make contact with our office to set up a payment plan. Payment plans will be enforced – failure to comply will result in a water service disconnection.

If you would like to set up a payment plan, please call our office at 540-967-1400.
