After 23 Years Council Member Retires

June 30, 2018 marks the end of a long career for one of the Town of Louisa Council Members.

While serving as a Council Member, Mrs. Clarke diligently and effectively represented Town citizens, helped achieve fiscal stability, support responsible growth, facilitate crucial infrastructure development and placement in the Town.

Through her leadership, dedication, knowledge and expertise as a Council Member, Mrs. Clarke has been a faithful member of Council who has served in a capacity to define and execute goals benefiting the Town of Louisa, her leadership has led to numerous significant accomplishments.

Over the course of her distinguished term on the Town Council Mrs. Clarke has served numerous committees, organizations and served as Vice Mayor.

During her tenure, Mrs. Clarke exemplified uncommon kindness, compassion and courtesy towards her fellow Council Members, staff, citizens and strangers alike.

Mrs. Clarke worked carefully, in earnest, and with enthusiasm as a team member of the creation of the Louisa Arts Center and historical preservation of the Louisa Town Hall.

Mrs. Clarke’s passion and drive to create a new Town Hall campus by restoring, remodeling and preserving the school building, which she had worked in for many years, is recognized as a major accomplishment in Town history.

Mrs. Clarke offered unique insights and perspective into discussion and deliberations of the Council that best served the needs of the residents of the Town of Louisa, Virginia.

While we at the Town are sad to see her go, we feel blessed and honored to have worked with her over the years.
