TO ALL CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF LOUISA AND SURROUNDING AREAS:

Chief A. T. Leary and Staff announce, that due to the current state of emergency, the following polices have been implemented by the Louisa Police Department:

If you have a LIFE THREATENING emergency, PLEASE DIAL 9-1-1.

Otherwise, if you have a NON EMERGENCY matter, we are asking that you call our non-emergency number, 540-967-3011, to speak with an on-duty officer or to leave a message. Remember, you can always call the Louisa County Emergency Communication Center for assistance at 540-967-1234.

Anyone requesting to enter the Police Department building will be screened per CDC recommendations.

The police ride-along program is suspended.

Donations of stuffed animals are suspended.

If you are interested in obtaining a copy of an accident report or an incident report, please call and we will determine if we can assist you via the U.S. Postal Service.

Here are a few helpful tips to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus:

  • *Practice Social Distancing
  • * Wash your hands
  • *Cough and/or sneeze into a tissue and discard into a trash can with a lid, wash your hands again * *Avoid crowds of 10 or more people

**Help your elderly relatives to self-quarantine by picking up and delivering their groceries, prescriptions, etc., that cannot be delivered to their homes.

** If you have the option to stay home.. .JUST STAY HOME.

We will resume normal services once it is safe to do so. As soon as we are able to lift these restrictions, we will make an announcement on LPD’s Facebook page and our Town’s Website at www.louisatown.org
